1859 (Mar. 20) Monroe Wis. to Niedersimmental, Switzerland, light buff cover bearing 1851, 12¢ black (17) horizontal pair, four margins, and 1857, 1¢ blue (24) and 10¢ green, type III (33), all tied by three strikes of "Monroe Wis. Mar 20" cds, red "New-York Am. Pkt. Mar 26" exchange cds with matching "12" credit rating handstamp, carried by Inman Line City of Washington from New York Mar. 26th to Liverpool arriving Apr. 7th, red Aachen Franco (4.10) framed transit and magenta "fr 2" sbr rating, Baden (4.12) transit backstamp and credit restated with red crayon "6" kr., Berne (4.13) transit backstamp; 1¢ lifted and hinged in place, some cover edge faults reinforced, Fine and scarce mixed issue franking. Estimate  $750 - 1,000. Cover prepaid for the 35¢ Prussian Closed Mail rate to Switzerland effective October 1, 1852 to April 30, 1863.
