Apr 8" exchange cds with magenta "18" cent credit rating, endorsed "via Marseilles", carried by Inman Line Kangaroo from New York Apr. 9th to Liverpool arriving Apr. 23rd, red London Paid (4.25) transit cds, manuscript "30" due rating; 10¢ stamps hinged in place, partial flap, F.-V.F., ex-Richey, Rust; signed by Ashbrook on reverse and accompanied by letter of authenticity. Estimate  $1,000 - 1,500. The cover was prepaid for 45¢ British mail rate for ¼ to ½ oz. via Marseilles was effective January 1, 1857 to August 30, 1861.
