1858 (Sep. 14) New Orleans, La. to Vienna, Austria, printed circular of Schmidt & Co. with framed "Printed Circular" h.s. at 2¢ printed matter rate prepaid by 1857, 1¢ blue, positions 47-48R8, horizontal pair, tied by "New Orleans Sep 14" cds, carried by Inman Line Vigo from New York Sep. 25 to Queenstown arriving Oct. 9, manuscript "2" pence debit to Prussian, Aachen (10.12) backstamp with blue manuscript "7" Austrian kreuzer due rating, Vienna (10.14) arrival backstamp, Very Fine and scarce. Scott No. 24  Estimate $300 - 400. London exchanged circular with Aachen under Anglo-Prussian Convention of 1852. Aachen struck the red double ring circular datestamp on the reverse which indicated the circular was a sea letter via England and Aachen, Prussia. $0 (Image)
