1858 (Dec. 14) New Haven Conn. to Bangkok, Thailand, cover from the House correspondence bearing 3¢ dull red (26) and 10¢ green, type III (33) strip of three, both tied by four strikes of red grid cancel, two matching strikes of "New Haven Con Dec 14 1858" cds, endorsed "via Southampton & Singapore", partial "Boston Br. Pkt. Dec 15" exchange backstamp and red crayon "28" cent credit rating, carried by Cunard Line Europa departing Boston Dec. 15th to Liverpool arriving Dec. 25th, red London Paid (12.27) transit cds, docketed as received Feb. 28th 1859 on reverse; reduced slightly at top, stamps with some scissor trimmed perfs, otherwise Very Fine, a scarce use to Siam. Estimate  $500 - 750. Cover was prepaid at the 33¢ British mail rate via Southampton effective April 1, 1858 to August 30, 1861. The 28¢ credit to Great Britain was 16¢ transatlantic plus 12¢ British transit. $0 (Image)
