1856 (Jan. 28) Wiscasset Me. to Havre, France, cover bearing fresh 10¢ green, type II (14) pair with four margins, cancelled by manuscript and tied by blue "Wiscasset Me. Jan 28" cds, "Boston Br. Pkt. Jan 30" exchange backstamp, carried as endorsed by Cunard Line America from Boston Jan. 30th to Liverpool arriving Feb. 11th, red London (2.12) transit backstamp, Calais (2.12) entry cds and matching "26" decimes due rating handstamp, Le Havre (2.13) arrival backstamp; pair slightly affected slightly from edge placement, Very Fine. Estimate  $300 - 400. Although cover was possibly prepaid 20¢ apparently for direct mail by British Packet, it was actually sent by the 5¢ British open mail rate. In France, it was rated double the 13 decimes due per 7.5 grams. $0 (Image)
