1852, 3¢ brownish claret, type I, unofficially rouletted, position 29L3, private roulette approximately gauge 17 clearly showing on all four sides, tied by "New - York Jul 6, 1857" cds on cover to Brainerd, N.J., embossed Waters, N.Y. merchant corner card; partial backflap, Very Fine, a very rare experimental separation roulette on cover, one of the early attempts of mechanical separation of stamps in the United States just prior to the 1857 perforated issue; with photocopy of 1996 P.F. certificate and a 2013 P.F. certificate.
