1852 (Oct. 17) Boston, Mass. to Berlin, Prussia, cover with red "Paid" handstamp signifying 5¢ prepaid for British open mail rate by British packet, New York red "British Packet." two-line handstamp, carried by Cunard Line Asia from New York Oct. 20 to Liverpool arriving Nov. 1, London (11.2) backstamp and manuscript "1" shilling U.K. debit to Prussia, Aachen (11.3) transit and Berlin (11.4) arrival backstamps, blue "13¾" silbergroschen postage due rating; some cover flaws, Very Fine. Estimate  $200 - 300. The New York "British Packet" handstamp is an uncommon marking found in both red and black and used for only about 8 months.
