1840 (Jan. 24) Newmarket, Upper Canada to Dublin, Ireland, folded letter with "Newmarket" circular h.s. and manuscript "24 Jany 40" dating, matching "Paid" h.s. with red manuscript "9, 25cts., 12½cts." rating for 9d Canadian inland, 25¢ U.S. inland and 12½¢ sailing ship freight money fees, carried by Black Ball Line South America from New York Feb. 3 to Cork arriving Feb. 21, Feb. 22nd backstamp and manuscript "8" pence due rating for uniform ship letter fee, Very Fine, Only recorded freight money letter from Newmarket, Canada. Estimate  $400 - 600. Black Ball Line "South America" put into Cork, Ireland on its way to Liverpool and put letter off, to arrive at Dublin the next day. $0 (Image)
