Nov 7 1839" rimless cds, matching "Paid" and "British/American" h.s. with red manuscript "11d/25cts" rating totaled to "2N2", reverse with matching red manuscript "Steamer Charge 1/3d Paid" prepaid 25Ā¢ steamship freight money rating, red "New-York Nov 18" exchange cds, carried by Black Ball Line New York from New York Nov. 19 to Liverpool arriving Dec. 14, "Liverpool/Ship Letter" and London (12.16) backstamps, manuscript "1" shilling due rating for 8d ship fee plus 4d uniform inland postage, F.-V.F., One of two known freight money covers from Amherstburg. Rare freight money cover during the 4d uniform British rate period. EstimateĀ  $500 - 750. Letter endorsed for the steamship Great Western but arrived at New York too late and was placed on a sailing packet to Liverpool, where 1s postage due marked, 8d incoming ship fee plus 4d uniform inland fee (in effect only from 5 December 1839 to 10 January 1840). $0 (Image)
