Incoming Ship Letter to Philadelphia Pa., undated folded cover addressed to Matthew Carey, endorsed "p the Franklin" at lower left, bold strike of Philadelphia "4" cent rating handstamp for delivery at port, fresh and Extremely Fine. Estimate $150 - 200. Matthew Carey was an influential journalist and publisher. He published the periodical American Museum before 1800, and the Port Folio, a literary and critical journal that began in Jan. 1801.
