Sep. 11 /62", manuscript postmark on buff cover to Battle Creek Mich. bearing 1¢ blue pair and block of eight on reverse, rich color with each neatly cancelled by two manuscript strokes, prepaid 10¢ Transcontinental rate, minor soiling at reduced slightly at left, Very Fine and scarce Nevada Territory use. Estimate  $2,000 - 3,000. A REMARKABLE TRANSCONTINENTAL USE FROM NEVADA TERRITORY, ONE OF ONLY FOUR RECORDED BLOCKS ON COVER. "C.V." is Carson Valley (Carson City), Utah Territory that was established on December 10th 1852. It became Nevada Territory in 1861.
