(Tombigbee River) Steamer Cherokee, perfect strike of elaborate illustrated handstamp on 3Ā¢ red Nesbitt entire to Tuscaloosa Ala., indicia cancelled by "Tuscaloosa Al. Jan. 11" cds on arrival; some overall wear including water staining at bottom left, Very Fine and attractive, ex-"Antoine"; signed by Holcombe. Milgram No. 212. EstimateĀ  $2,000 - 3,000. THE FINEST STRIKE OF ONLY THREE RECORDED EXAMPLES OF THIS ELABORATE ILLUSTRATED MARKING. The Tombigbee and Black Warrior Rivers were navigable as far as Tuscaloosa in Northwest Alabama.
