(Shades) 3¢ 1852 "Accidental" Orange Brown, four margins, distinctive color, tied by "New Haven Conn. 19 Apr" cds on blue 1852 folded letter to New York, N.Y.; cover corner tear, Very Fine and scarce. Scott No. 11A  Estimate $200 - 300. In early 1852, plate 2L and 3 stamps are found in an orange brown shade. These are considered accidental printings rather than a distinctive shade used for any length of time. Some of these colors are almost identical to the true orange brown color. $0 (Image)
