(Route 6103) Packet Compromise, red fancy circular handstamp with negative letters on folded cover noted from Connectoc Point, Red River, March 13, 1852 from Carroll Hoy & Co. correspondence to New Orleans La., red "New Orleans La. Mar 19" cds with matching "Way 6" rating handstamp for under 3,000 miles plus 1¢ way fee, Very Fine, Illustrated in Milgram on page 196. Milgram No. 279  Estimate $1,000 - 1,500. A CHOICE STRIKE OF THE INTAGLIO COMPROMISE PACKET MARKING THAT IS RARELY FOUND THIS NICELY STRUCK. The "Compromise" of 270 tons was built in 1850 and used for single round trip contracts on Route 6103 running from Natchitoches to New Orleans. $0 (Image)
