(Route 6103) From Steamer Judah Touro, red oval handstamp on 3¢ red Nesbitt buff entire to New Orleans La., indicia cancelled by manuscript "X"; partial flap and some paper loss on back, Very Fine. Milgram No. 732  Estimate $400 - 600. "Judah Tuoro" of 332 tons built at New Albany, Indian in 1854 for Capt. Samuel Gwartney. First enrolled at New Orleans 11th January 1855 for the New Orleans to Shreveport trade. Burnt at Shreveport in July 1863 to avoid capture by Union forces. Named after Judah Tuoro (1775-1854) who was a prominent steamboat owner and a major philanthropist in New Orleans. $0 (Image)
