Estimate  $100 - 150. Letter intentionally prepaid only U.S. inland rate to New York knowing the postmaster there would have to put the letter on the first available outgoing sailing ship, thereby avoiding the retaliatory fee on packet letters. Although endorsed "Via Liverpool," letter sent by sailing ship to France. It first was marked for 10 sgr. postage due in Prussia then changed to 11½ sgr. $0 (Image)
