(Fair Play) Feb 2d, 1862, B.Q., manuscript date and senders initials on 1861, 3¢ rose on cover to Laurette, with "Executive Department, Colorado Territory" imprint with "Executive Department" penned out, manuscript "Fair (Play)" postmark at lower right with cover reduction into name, F.-V.F., still a very rare imprint cover used from Fair Play. Estimate  $150 - 200. The unusual practice at the Fair Play post office of having the sender endorse the stamp with their initials is known on several covers during this time period. The addressee, J. W. Stanton was an early miner at Black Hawk. It appears he was partners in a quartz mill at Eureka in the Nevada District by April of 1861.
