(Demonetized) Eagle and Flags, red white and blue patriotic design with Lloyd imprint on cover to Wampsville N.Y., bearing 1¢ blue (24) vertical pair, bottom stamp torn, and 1¢ blue (63), all tied by matching circular grids, matching "Cortland Village N.Y. Sep 11, 1861" cds; reduced at right with small mend at lower right corner, Fine and scarce mixed issue franking. Walcott No. 2579. Estimate  $400 - 600. This is an early use of the 1¢ blue 1861 issue with the Aug. 21st EDU on cover. The illegal, demonetized 1¢ 1857 issue pair were allowed to pass through the mails by the Cortland Village postmaster. $0 (Image)
