Dateline on folded letter to Jackson Miss. franked with C.S.A. pair of 5c Blue, Local Print (7), full even margins, tied by "Vicksburg Miss." double-circle datestamp, sender's notation "Care Surgeon Potts", letter states "The Genl. Hodges has been to Alexandria & back & is going out this evening. She says that the Frolic was still at Alexa.", Extremely Fine, this is a very rare example of mail posted from a Mississippi steamboat -- Vicksburg fell to Union forces on July 4, 1863 -- ex-Knapp. Estimate  $750 - 1,000. $0 (Image)
