Interesting Collection of Mint and Used Ukraine, Featuring Displaced Persons Local Stamps, 1918-1950s, with a few hundred stamps in roughly 35 Vario-style stock pages housed in a binder. The lot begins with a selection of primarily mint Trident overprint stamps, noting imperforate and perforated stamps, pairs and strips, including owner's notations highlighting varieties and overprint types, along with retail prices ranging from $10 to $35 per item. The collection continues with an interesting group of mint Regensburg displaced persons local stamps and semi-postals, noting perforated and imperforated stamps (including pairs), which used for internal mail at the camp post offices. Older auction slips show estimates of $60 to $120 for various sets of stamps. The lot also includes 1947 Scouting local issues from displaced persons camps, and selections of Western Ukraine. Collection of Mint and Never Hinged Ukraine, 1918-2003, with many hundreds of stamps, with a mixture of material in hingeless mounts and hinged on quadrille and album pages. The lot begins with selections of 1918 Trident overprinted stamps, and continues with 1992 issues up to 2003, noting sets, souvenir sheets, and sheets (with owner noting a 1992 sheet with inverted overprints). The lot also includes selections of mint Carpatho-Ukraine NRZU first, second and third definitives issues, with Scott catalogue prices generally ranging $5 to $20 per stamp. The lot includes a Western Ukraine postage due Scott #34 (m.h., c.v. $650 if genuine, has two guarantee marks on reverse). A nice lot that could include a few finds. Online photos show a sampling.
