1899 (Jan) Cover of White Fathers origin, to "Monseigneur Streicher, Vicaire Apostolique du Nyanza Septal, La Maison - Carree, Algeria", franked by 1896 (Nov) typeset 2a black upper left corner horizontal pair, tied by blue crayon cross (paying postage to Uganda border), in combination with B.E.A. 1896-1901 2a and 3a (paying double external postage), tied by Mombasa transit cds, with Marseilles and La Maison - Carree backstamps, minor cover faults but highly attractive, and one of the finest and most important covers of this issue sent to an extraordinary destination, ex Dr Scott (Harmer SA 6/6/2008, lot 1144) and Dunstan (Sotheby's 26/9/85, lot 173 - illustrated on front cover of catalogue) (Image)
