USA Colln 1847-1980 carefully mtd in Scott National Album. Owners cat was somewhat over Can $11,000. Having gone through we found a few that were damaged and discussed with owner and removed from the colln and some damaged that although left in the collection, were removed from cat val, some example of what were removed from cat val are the #163 15c Webster (US$160); 166 90c Commodore(US$300); 229 90c Perry(US$150); 292 $1 Cattle (US$725). There are quite a number of early that appear mint, but are without gum, including all the Columbians - ALL are catalogued as used - if they were cat as mint the cat val would be up another probable US$1500. There are some really nice items such as 70b the 1861 24cent steel blue. A gen F/VF colln. All after 1940 (except BofB) are added up as face value to US$50. It looks like he was considering continuing and as such there are several envelopes of mostly more modern in the back with a further face value of US$148 (all appear MNH) also not included in cat value (Qty of stamps incl. pieces - up to 1940 = 578). USA Collection, #1//833, 1847-1938 mtd in album. Those stamps with serious faults have been "x'd" out - ie. have not been counted in the cat val (of special note #1 & #243 the $3 Columbian - not counted as they are not much bettre than spacefillers). A few that may not have been removed will have been discounted significantly, eg. #226, the 10c grn, with no gum to $5).
