Unknown Manufacturer, Chicago, Ill., Jul 1, 98. Clear strike on receiving backstamp on illustrated corner card cover from San Diego, Cal. franked with 2¢ Trans-Miss.; rough reduction at left, otherwise Very Fine, though a number of Barry machines were in use at Chicago at this time, this marking is somewhat different and the stuttered offset on the front of the cover strongly suggests a vertical fed machine.
