Inbound cover with Via Overland Mail + Salt Lake City, Utah sender's endorsement, 1861 3c rose tied by "Detroit Mich, Oct. 4" double circle postmark and duplex target killer, also "3" rate marking struck four times so evidently postage due, sender's handstamp dated Oct. 3, 1866, on the back, corner repair at lower right, F.-V.F., carried by westbound stage on the central overland mail route to Salt Lake City and thence to Boise City by The Holladay Overland Mail and Express Co. just prior to the "grand consolidation" with Wells Fargo.
