Fayetteville, Ark, Nov 3. Red cds with manuscript date on ca. 1840's folded letter sheet addressed to Stand Waitie in Beaties Prairie, Ark. (Indian territory), manuscript "10" rate, Very Fine. Estimate  $200 - 300. Stand Waitie was a leader of the Cherokee Nation and a brigadier general of the Confederate States Army during the American Civil War. He commanded the Confederate Indian cavalry of the Army of the Trans-Mississippi and was the last Confederate general in the field to surrender. $0 (Image)
