Cover franked with France 1870, 10c bister, three singles + 1871, 25c blue, vertical pair tied by dotted star cancels overpaying the 5 decimes per 10 grams rate via direct mail to the U.S. (July 1, 1871 - July 31, 1874), several strikes of "Boston Am. Pkt., 10, Oct 12" entry cds; slight soiling and stamp flaws from cover overlap, F.-V.F., cover insufficiently franked for service via G.B. and was held for direct rate resulting in overpayment.
