Cover franked with 1869, 10¢ yellowish orange tied by neat grid handstamp with matching "Cold Spring, N.Y., Jun 7" cds below paying 10¢ per half ounce direct steamship rate, red "New York, Jun 11" exchange cds and "8" decimes due handstamp per 10 grams collected from the addressee (1-Jan-1870 - 30-Jun-1871) after which the French due was reduced to 5 decimes per 10 grams, Very Fine. Scott No. 116  Estimate $400 - 600. Sent via French Line - per the steamer Ville de Paris, departing New York on June 11th and arriving in Brest on June 21st and Havre on June 22nd. $0 (Image)
