Quadruple rate cover franked with 1868, 30¢ orange, F. grill, two singles tied by "New Orleans, La., Apr 16" origin cds's and cork duplexes, red "New York, 12, Apr 20" exchange cds credits France with 12¢ or 3¢ per quarter ounce for American direct contract steamship service at American expense, French receiving date stamp (Salles 1716a - used for Cherbourg arrivals on 24-Apr, 3-May, and 9-May 1869) tying left stamp, Very Fine, a scarce usage.
