Cover franked with Carrier, 1851, 1¢ Eagle, large margins to just in at right, rich color, tied by deep blue "Cincinnati, O., Feb 24" cds, clear "New York, 3, Feb 29" cds (leap year) debit to France for U.S. inland, "8" decimes due handstamp, transit and receiving backstamps; cover with bottom flap missing and corner repair at bottom left, otherwise Very Fine, one of Two Known Usages of The 1¢ Eagle Carrier to France with only five known foreign usages originating from Cincinnati, O.
