Oct. 2, 1857" cds's on folded letter to Paris, France, red "New York, Paid 6, Oct. 10" credit cds, receiving backstamp; stamps affected by light horizontal cover bend, F.-V.F., this October 1857 usage pre-dates the Red Brown printing (the shade is the 1856 No. 12 shade); with 1982 E.
