TIN CAN MAIL: Collection with some better items including 1930 US advertising cover to "Burns Philp.../ Niuafoou" unusually with only two cachets, 1931 USSCo cover to NZ with 3d tied bny 'NIUAFOOU'-in-Bars in violet & enclosed letter on Union Line notepaper that describes how this item will be carried "in a sealed benzene tin...", usual array of 1930s printed covers for various American ships, 1935 from USA bizarrely addressed "Mr WC Quinoell/Tin Canoe Island/Nivafoon" which actually arrived, 1939 registered from Suva, 1946 Last Tin Can Mail illustrated cover with manuscript cancel, 1940 to NZ with Niaufoou cds & 'REG Niuafoou/No ("783")' cachet, two 1940s unaddressed with genuine cds but four "rare" cachets we expect are bogus, range of 1960s-1970s Matson Line covers including 1969 & 1971 Christmas Cruises & 1969 Polynesian Cruise and 1969 to a child in NZ, etc, condition variable but those mentioned & many others are fine to very fine.  (73 items) (Image1)
