POSTAL HISTORY: circa 1945 native-paper internal official cover (185x123mm) addressed in at least two languages with manuscript registration (?) "cachet", Imperf ½t yellow-orange Scott 14 & huge (41x41mm) Official 1 1/3t olive Scott O4 - both marginal examples - tied to the reverse by superb strikes of the decorative '.../LHASA' cds (Chazen & Wong typeT42), two lines of elaborate monastic (?) script suggest a priestly origin, possibly even from the Dalai Lama, minor soiling. An enigmatic but beautifully compelling cover of which there is nothing remotely like it in 'Tibet Stamps & Postal History' by Steve Chazen & Danny Wong.
