Accumulation of Chalons x140+ from imperfs noted Star Wmk 2d green (margins close to touching) and numeral Wmk 1d fiscally used x30+ including strips of 3 x4 & strip of 4 and 6d grey x4 plus a fiscally used pair, perforated range noted Perf 12½ 1d red * (large-part original gum; minor perf faults), Sidefaces including TAS-in-Bars Wmk 4d ochre pair ** (right-hand unit with perf faults) & TAS Wmk 1d block of 4 *, Tablets '1½d' on 5d marginal block of 42 ** (perf splitting & minor edge faults), Pictorials mostly mint group including 2½d x3 3d x4 4d x15 & 6d x13, Postal Fiscals 3d 2/6d 5/- & 10/- plus 'REVENUE' overprints 2/6d & 5/-, a few Platypus Revenues; plus a small group of Western Australia mostly used including 'WA' punctures and some postmark interest; condition a little variable especially among the earlier but most are fine to very fine.

1857-67 Watermark Double-Lined Numerals 1d brick-red SG 27 block of 8 (4x2), margins just touching to good except at the base where all units are cut-into, vertical crease across the third column, large-part original gum, Cat £3800+, for unused singles. Chris Ceremuga Certificate (2013) states "extremely rare".

POSTMARKS - NUMERAL CANCELS: Stockbook accumulation mostly on Sidefaces including superb '75' (RRR), fine to very fine '176' (RRR) and RR-rated '117', '243', '279', '301', '318' & '346' as well as a very fine '362' of North Mount Lyell on 1d Pictorial, also CDS on Pictorials with pickings including 'JETSONVILLE', 'LISLE ROAD STATION' & 'THE NEEDLES' plus on Kangaroos, KGV Heads and a few later issues with many complete strikes, a small group of TPO & other cancels also.

POSTMARKS - DATESTAMPS: Claremont Military Camp 'MILITARY CAMP/SEP 12 Sent/TA[SMAN]IA' triple-circle rubber cds in blue (Hardinge R1a, rated RRRR) on 1914 (circa) Kangaroo 1d grey Letter Card with 'The Two Brothers/ Queensland' view, to Exeter with undated message giving the writer's target scores, a couple of very minor blemishes. PO 23.10.1914; closed 22.11.1918. Sold at our auction of 15.5.2004 for $483.
POSTAL HISTORY: 1901 two covers with printed 'ARNOTTS/ARE/THE/BEST/BISCUITS' advertising collars in red with 2d Pictorial, or purple with 'PRINTED MATTER' handstamp & 1d Pictorial, both used from Hobart to Oatlands (one with arrival backstamp), minor imperfections. Rare: not previously seen by us.
