Cat No:14
1855 London Printings Large Star Wmk 1d carmine SG 14, an unusually large example with margins just clear - at centre-right - to large with fragments of the adjoining units at left & below, BN '64' cancel of Hobart Town, Cat £900. Ex Wolfgang Kielmann. RPSofV Certificate (2002).
1856-57 No Watermark Pelure Paper 1d deep red-brown SG 24 horizontal pair, margins just shaved - at right - to good, the left-hand unit is superb, central BN '68' cancel, Cat £1500+. A rare multiple of a scarce stamp. Ex Wolfgang Kielmann. RPSofV Certificate (2016).
1857-67 Watermark Double-Lined Numerals 2d yellow-green SG 32 with 'PNNCE' for 'PENCE', defective, dated fiscal cancellation. Chris Ceremuga Certificate (2021). A remarkable, albeit transient variety, and the only example known to us.
1863-71 Experimental Separations ImperfxOblique Roulette 11½ at Oatlands 4d blue SG 91, shaved at the top otherwise superb, light BN '64' of Oatlands, Cat £1000. One of the finest examples of this scarce & underrated stamp. Ex Wolfgang Kielmann. RPSofV Certificate (1995).
1871-78 'TAS'-with-Lines Watermark Perf 12 4d ochre SG 153 horizontal pair, characteristic rough perfs, virtually full original gum with the left-hand unit being unmounted, Cat £700++, for two unused singles. Superb. Ex Wolfgang Kielmann. RPSofV Certificate (2010).
1880-91 'TAS'-without-Lines Watermark Perf 12 4d chrome-yellow Printed on Both Sides SG 166ab marginal example from the right of the left-hand pane, large-part original gum, Cat £1500. Ex Wolfgang Kielmann. RPSofV Certificate (2003). [The original printing on the 'reverse' is usually very indistinct because of the colour of the ink, as is the case here. However, some examples clearly show that the first printing was sideways: Gary Diffen's such example sold for £540]
1905-11 Electrotyped Crown/A 1d rose-red with the Watermark Inverted horizontal Imperforate Pair ACSC T14b (SG 250f) from the left of the sheet, margins large to humungous, CTO with Hobart cds of AP30/1908, Cat $600 (£750). Superb. Ex Wolfgang Kielmann. [The pair illustrated in the ACSC is the adjoining piece from below this pair]
