1916 lovely original grading G on the obv and VG+ on the rev. A choice coin for the grade with virtually no blemishes or imperfections other than wear. Enough of the date shows for easy identification (though this issue can usually be identified even if the date is worn off.) A paltry mintage of just 52,000 coins in Dec 1916 (after millions of the Barber design were issued throughout most of 1916) resulted in this issue being a rarity in the Liberty Standing series. The unique design details of the 1916 Liberty Standing Quarter caused wear to be extensive after just a small amount of circulation, which likely had something to do with the slight change in design for 1917. Even coins certified as VF and XF are apt to be disappointing in overall appearance. It is a pleasure to lot an aesthetically pleasing coin of this issue even if the grade is somewhat low. (Image)

1923-S Good. An appealing original coin that really grades Fine in overall detail, but because the date only shows one digit clearly (luckily its the "3"), the grade must be assessed as a Good. It takes a lot of searching to find this issue in this grade, so if you are seeking to build a Liberty Standing Quarter set in low grade, you should seize this opportunity. (Image)
