GRIQUALAND WEST: 1878 (June 25) mourning cover to Essex with rare franking of Small Seriffed 'G' Overprints 1d rose pair & 4d blue SG 16 & 20 tied by light but obvious 'KIMBERLEY' cds, very fine 'CAPE TOWN/JY2/78/CAPE COLONY' cds alongside & 'CHELMSFORD' arrival backstamp, ironed-out vertical crease impacts the 4d, minor imperfections. A visually arresting early cover from the Kimberley Diamond Fields. BPA Certificate (2019).
