KULUMBANGRA' x5 and 'LEVER PACIFIC PLANTATIONS LTD/SUPERCARGO' x2 all in violet or blue; good range of transit cancels from Australia x17, New Guinea x2, PNG x2, New Hebrides or New Zealand; a couple of manuscript date cancels on Large Canoes 2d & 2½d & manuscript "SS FIKO" (unknown status); Barakoma Airfield manuscript cancles x8 & small straight-line h/s x6, and simple datestamp used at Yandina x3; and a few indecipherables, condition variable. POSTAL MARKINGS: Manuscript "AHA" on Large Canoes ½d 1d (defective) & 2d, the first two with Brisbane transit cds of JA3/1908. [Believed to be the initials of Australian missionary Rev AH Abbott, who worked in the Solomons between 1904 & 1920. In 1906, he moved to Nongisila, and that may be the origin of these stamps] (3 items)

POSTAL MARKINGS: Manuscript "AHA/22-12-07" neatly inscribed centrally on Large Canoes ½d 1d 2d & 2½d reconstructed on piece & tied to each other by Brisbane cds of JA3/08: Franks #126. The initials are of the Reverend AH Abbott, an Australian missionary in the Solomons 1904-1920. In 1906, he moved to Nongisila, and that may be the origin of this item. Ex John Darnell: sold at our auction of 5.12.2003 for $448.
