1916 "FEE PAID" of Jeddah: Commercial envelope to Suez with a very fine strike of the second Type Fee Paid mark from Jeddah, being "FEE PAID" with ornaments either side (Uexkull Type K), used only in September and October 1916, while awaiting the distribution of the new Hejazi stamps, on reverse "DJEDDAH/3" (21.9), "SUEZ" (29.9) and Egyptian "PASSED BY CENSOR" handstamp, very fine and rare (Image)

1916-17 "FEE PAID" of Mecca: After the Ottomans had been defeated, these were used until the Hejaz postage stamps were ready and during later shortages, bilingual type, unframed with horizontal lines and numbered in manuscript (Uexkull Type E), on postcard to Algeria with "MEKKE 3" datestamp of 30.9.16 (recorded from October) and on a cover to Jeddah with an unrecorded similar type mark from March 1917 but with smaller letters, a very rare pair (Image)
