In combination with 1886, 4d blue, perf 12½ + 1887, 2d yellow orange, perf 12x11½ paying the eleven times the 6d rate on 1888 oversized U.S. Consulate linen cover to San Francisco, Cal., tied by blue "Apia, Samoa, May 22" cds's, partial San Francisco entry tying postmarks at bottom left where U.S. 55¢ franking has been removed, Very Fine appearance, still a remarkable high value franking as this is the only known example of the First Printing 1886 2sh6d Palm Tree Issue on cover and may well be the only known commercial usage of the 2sh6d Palm Tree issue (Odenweller 282).
