In combination with 1890, 1d blue green + 2d dull orange, tied by blue "Apia, Samoa, Jan 28" cds's on legal size cover addressed to "Her Britannic Majesty Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs" in London, England, with manuscript "Consulate of Samoa, Jan 24, 1891", "Md" initials above and "via America" routing endorsement, in conjunction with U.S. 1890, 5¢ chocolate (s.e. at left) + 10¢ green, horizontal pair (Sc. 223+226) tied by segmented cork cancels, reverse with "San Francisco, Cal., Feb 15, 1891" transit cds and embossed "Consulate Samoa" emblem on backflap; couple tiny facial scuffs on 1sh, otherwise Very Fine, a wonderful British Consulate combination franking usage paying the five time rate to London (Odenweller 43).
