Circular 'PANAMA / TRANSIT' datestamp of transit (Jan 27) in black, thence via London (March 1) where framed "GB / 1F 90c." Accountancy marking applied in black. FR. A No. 2 1 JUIL. 83" shipmail datestamp (Salles vol IV, fig. 1416) alongside. Reverse with London arrival (July 25, 1882) cds in red. Horizontal fold and tear at right of adhesives, nevertheless an appealing Shipmail cover which made its journey on the steamer 'Lafayette' on the French line A fom Aspinwall/Colon to St. Nazaire.rnProvenance: 100.
