1837 Wyon City Medal. Fine example struck in silver in honour of Queen Victoria's 1837 visit to the Corporation of London, the portrait by William Wyon was the model used for all Great Britain stamps of her reign. 1887-92 ½d-1s "Jubilee issue". Superb unused set of ten from the 1887 Jubilee issue plus an 1881 1d lilac (SG 172,Die 2, 16 dots) affixed to a page of DLR gridlined paper, each stamp overprinted "CANCELLED" type 14 including the rare 5d Die I, the first example of the 5d Die I overprinted "Cancelled" we have handled in over fifteen years. Gum residue on obverse of 5d not detracting from this extremely rare set, believed to be one of only two or three recorded examples in private hands. Ex. "Verus". SG197/211var. (Image)

Very fine unmounted o.g. left hand marginal interpane block of four from the right hand side of the mill sheet in setting 3 with marginal rule and interpane blocks.
