Cat No:2
1860 Large Star Imperf 2d blue SG 2 horizontal pair, margins good to large with complete outer framelines, Rays '151' of Condamine, Cat £4000+, for singles. A very fine & rare multiple of this First Issue stamp. Ex Alfred Caspary (when offered as a strip of 3, the defective right-hand unit later being removed), Simon Dunkerley (sold at our auction of 24.1.2004 for $9055) and 'Dubois' (I): sold for SFr3170. Freidl/Herbert Bloch (1981), Philatelic Foundation (2001) and RPSofV (2003) Certificates. Singles of this quality are rarely encountered, so to have the chance to obtain such a deluxe multiple is a singular opportunity.
1860 Large Star Imperf 6d green SG 3, good even margins with complete outer framelines, fine strike of Rays '96' of Maryborough, signed in pencil "AD" (= Alberto Diena), Cat £950. Superb: the equal of Bernie Manning's example that sold at our auction of 12.5.2007 for $1865. [Most used examples have faults; very fine examples are rare. Many examples seen are perforated stamps that have been cut-down]

1880 Lithographed High Values 2/- blue SG 119 horizontal strip of 5, large-part original gum, Cat £850++, for unused singles. RPSofV Certificate (2024).
1880 Lithographed High Values 20/- rose SG 127, strong colour and well centred, faint bend & a small thin, large-part original gum, Cat £2500. RPSofV Certificate (2024).
1882-95 Large Chalons 2/- die proof in black on thick paper reduced to a little larger than stamp-size with large margins & affixed to a small piece of thin card (28x35mm). A rare and beautiful proof. Ex Bradbury Wilkinson Archives. Bernie Manning's similar £1 die proof sold at our auction of 13.6.2009 for $4370.
1882-91 Lined Background 2d die proofs from the approved die with outer framelines on thin unwatermarked wove paper reduced to a bit larger than stamp-size in black, dull brown, emerald-green and deep blue, margins good to large, a few small stains & tiny thins where removed from a record-book. Not previously seen by us. Ken Scudder at page 99 records such proofs on thick or thin card in various colours not including black.

Cat No:234a
1897-1908 Four Corners 2d blue Major Cracked Electro across Face & Neck as ACSC Q16dv (SG 234a) [Pos 45] but Retouched, a couple of short perfs at U/R, cancelled well clear of the affected area. Unlisted in the ACSC. With the 'normal' Cracked Electro for comparison. Ex Ken Killeen: sold at our auction of 2.12.2021 for $1120. Far superior to the only other recorded example, ex Bernie Manning, that had faults but sold at our auction of 13.6.2009 for $1165. [The Cracked Electro presents as a Jagged White Flaw from the Brow to the Base of the Neck. The variety offered here appears to be a crude retouch involving a simple filling of the crack so that it now presents as a Colour Flaw. Geoff Kellow was apparently unaware of the retouch as he writes of the affected unit being substituted, without mentioning this "intermediate state". Ken Scudder at page 266 states "...an example is known where the crack has printed filled with ink"] (2) (Image1)

Cat No:234
1897-1908 Four Corners 2d blue SG 234 with unlisted Major Cracked Plate ('Death Mask'), duplex cancel clear of the variety. Ex Ken Killeen. [This variety is just as impressive as the listed Crack across Face & Neck SG 234a but is not illustrated by Ken Scudder and apparently not previously recorded in the literature]
1897-1908 Four Corners 4d die proof block of 4 in yellow-orange on ungummed unwatermarked wove paper as ACSC #Q28(DP)1 (2023) but all units are Die II, huge margins, the lower units creased, Cat $4000+. Ex Bernie Manning: sold at our auction of 18.12.2010 for $1980. [The ACSC states "It is believed that all the recorded blocks are Die I", which makes this a technically important item]
1907-11 Crown/A 1d scarlet-vermilion Imperforate Block of 4 ACSC Q11Ab (SG 288a), margins good to large, large-part original gum, Cat $1500+ (£800+), for two pairs.
