The treaty rate was 6d per 1oz.
POSTAL HISTORY: (March 22) cover to Italy with First Sidefaces 1d 2d pair & 6d tied by four strikes of Rays ‘165’ of Charters Towers with superb cds at lower-left & equally fine ‘REGISTERED/CHARTERS TOWERS’ handstamp in red at upper-left, Italian ‘AMBUL BOLOGNA/POTEBAN’ TPO, ‘CASABSA BELLA DELIZIA’ & ‘PILIMBERCO’ transit backstamps, light overall toning/aging that could be improved. The rate was 8d + 3d registration.
