Ca. 1967 Baby Sisters Essay Group, and Others, two unused (no gum, as prepared) tête-bêche (as these were to test the layout for booklet panes) gutter blocks of 50, each with sheet margin showing a plate number, one in black and one in blue. The blue block includes 20 imperforate-between pairs, and the black block has 25. Also included are four rarer test booklets, all containing a pane of blank, perforated and gummed stamps, with "B.A. BANK NOTE" and "BRITISH AMERICAN BANK NOTE" on the covers, in light blue. In 1967 the British American Bank Note Company was awarded the contract to print the Centennial issue booklets using a new Goebel press, they tested that machine by printing these. Very fine and an interesting addition to any Canadian, or Centennial collection. Also includes two test panes from Belgium, a few more possibly from Spain, a number of Olympic test stamps and two 1937 test booklets from Sweden, each containing 20 stamps engraved by Sven Ewert. Accompanied by a 1981 Greene Foundation certificate and still on a Saskatoon Stamp Centre card (asking $495), explaining that "similar sold Eastern Auction June/05 for over $700". 1970 6c Christmas Issue Se-Tenant Strip of 5 with Major Perforation Shift, mint never hinged, with the horizontal perforations shifted down by 5 to 6 mm, resulting in the wording appearing at the bottom instead of the top.
