4½d Queen Victoria Trial Colour Die Proof in Brownish Rose, on India paper, with large even margins, with slight paper thinning in upper right on back, due to the fragile nature of this paper, still very fine and rare. Minuse & Pratt #10TC1a. Also comes with an unused #7 1862 6d yellow green with an unusual perforation combination (tiny thin and hinge remnant), sold to owner by W.E. Lea in London in 1961 and we have included the original receipt and envelope it was mailed in. Ex. Crosby collection. (Image)

1862-72 Group of Mint Issues, with #s 4 (one VF hinged, one VFNH, both slightly different shades), 5 (VFNH), 5i (VFNH), 5var (marginal strip of three with middle stamp showing "TWC" variety, all fine, left stamp is NH), 6 (VFNH), 7 (fine hinged), 8 (VFNH but pulled perf), 9 (fine never hinged marginal, on white paper), 9a (fine never hinged marginal, on yellowish paper), 9d (unused no gum marginal block of four, very fine but with pen writing on back affecting bottom two stamps) and 10 (fine with gum loss so catalogued as hinged), 11 (VFNH marginal), 12 to 15 (all fine NH) and 16 (VFNH). A mostly fresh group. (Image)
