Sweden, Foreign-related items Saint Barthélemy. Unpaid letter dated in Stockholm 24 July 1835 sent by a Falmouth packet to St Kitts, and then by a forwarding agent to Saint Barthélemy 9 October. British postage notation "4 Sh 4 d". Small traces of mounting. Unusually early mail to the Swedish colony in the Carribean. Scarce as many of the other letters recorded are conveyed privately. Ship letter fee 2 c and domestic fee New York–Fall River 18½ c, or in total 20½ c as postage due. Interesting and very scarce with ship notation on Swedish mail sent overseas, as well as unusually early letter to America. Superb EXHIBITION ITEM. (Image1)
