1840-41 PENNY POST HAND STAMPS unusual group of four incl. an 1840 2d, two covers bearing 1d red-browns 'black plates' and a pair of 1841 1d red-browns on piece. Used two margin 1840 2d blue Pl.2 (AF), tied to piece by a red 'AMLWCH/PENNY POST' h/stamp and a black MC (SG.5, SpecDS8xaa) offered with a 1d red-brown 'black plate' Pl.11 (CK) tied to an entire by a red 'AMLWCH/PENNY POST' h/stamp and a black MC (SG.7, Spec.AS74ye), another 1d red-brown Pl.8 'black plate' cover with 'Haslebury Penny Post' h/stamp on reverse and finally a pair of 1d red-brown cancelled by a 'Poulton Penny Post' h/stamp and two black MC's.
