1841-1958 QV-KGVI Stationery envelopes (70) and postcards (3), the envelopes all with black printed mourning borders, including 1841 2d blue envelope posted from London (minor edge faults, slightly reduced at upper edge with loss of black border and flap missing, but very scarce), 1d pink envelopes (48, one with number "6" in Maltese Cross), unused KGV 2d envelopes revalued to 1½d with triangular "W.C." handstamp (3), covers with stationery cut-outs (3), 1871 ½d violet postcard with an advert for the West Central Mourning Warehouse used within London, also a lettercard with printed contents from a monumental mason. An interesting group, some scarce. (74).

1891 "2" Surcharges on 3c cards, comprising postcards surcharged in red cancelled to order at Penang (3); reply card surcharged in red unused, used within Penang (2) or registered from Singapore to Germany franked 5c; reply cards surcharged in black unused or cancelled to order at Penang (3), two of these signed by the Assistant Postmaster General with the message "These Postcards are all franked by Nelson, the Assistant Postmaster General of the Straits. I got him to do this as he foolishly date stamped them and then prevented their being used" (or similar). Scarce cards, an interesting lot. (11).

1891 "2" on 3c Reply card (outward half), very large surcharge in red, registered from Penang to Capt P. Nelson in Scotland franked 5c, cancelled by oval of bars with boxed "PENANG / 19 NOV 91 / R" registration handstamp and London Registered arrival datestamp (Dec 14), message on reverse written by P.J Nelson, Assistant Postmaster General of the Straits. Horizontal fold near base and vertical fold at left but very rare, this "2" surcharge recorded on just one other unused 3c postcard. With B.P.A Certificate (1986). Photo on Page 180. (Image1)
