Small group of military & censored mail including 1904 with 'HMS CHALLENGER' on the flap, 1940 Consulate of the Netherlands cover inwards from New Zealand with 'SAFE HAND (AIR)' cachet (the only Safe Hand Packet item we have seen from NZ), 1941 pair of covers from Australian serviceman "LJ Golding A/B" in China (?) with either 'PASSED BY CENSOR/[initialled]/ DATE: ("26.6.41")' h/s or 'VICTORIA/19MY/40/HONG KONG' cds on face, and 1945 BCOF with 'HMAS HOBART/2 SEPT/1945/TOKYO JAPAN' woodcut cds, also Great Britain 1943 stampless to a civilian internee in China & 1945 Forces Letter KGVI 1½d to POW in Japan plus KGV 2d x3 tied to 1920s piece by 'ASCENSION' cds, India 1934 airmail to "Hong Kong Mule Corps" and Spain 1938 airmail to Malloca with M/S 'heart' censored.
OAS airmail cover endorsed from "LJ Golding A/B" with fine red boxed 'PASSED BY CENSOR/[initialled]/ DATE: ("26.6.41")' h/s on the face, to NSW with Sydney civil censor label & cachet at left, minor blemishes; plus 1940 cover to same addressee with italicised 'On Active Service' h/s in red and 'VICTORIA/19MY/40/HONG KONG' cds alongside with same 'PASSED ...' cachet on reverse, minor faults.
Military usages of KGVI Registration Envelopes from various Army, Navy & RAAF units during WWII, BCOF in Japan & the Korean War, several uprated, good range of CDS & registration cachets, a couple knocked-about but mostly fine to very fine.

1901 social usage of Victorian 1d Federation Postal Card with Melbourne cds of 1.1.01 being the first day of the AUSTRALIA &, as confirmed in the message, the first day of the Twentieth Century.
1913 (Mar 8) dealer's cover to Minnesota with scarce albeit philatelic combination franking of Kangaroo ½d green, 2d grey & 3d olive + NSW 2d ultramarine & Victoria ½d blue-green all tied by Sydney cds, red & black/white R label, US 'REGISTERED' h/s unusually in magenta with Seattle transit b/s in the same colour, Saint Paul arrival b/s in purple. Very attractive Five Colour franking.
1913 (Dec 24) double-rate usage of Kangaroo 4d orange Registered Envelope to London with scarce franking of Engraved 1d tied by 'ANNANDALE/NSW' cds, blank provisional red & black/white R label, London arrival b/s.
1913 (Dec 28) cover to a ship's captain c/- Pacific Steam Navigation Co at Panama endorsed in pencil "SS Guatemala" with scarce combination franking of Tasmania ½d + Kangaroos 1d red vertical pair (one with a small fault) tied by Hobart machine cancel to pay the foreign letter rate, poor arrival b/s. [NB: the Republic of Panama is a much scarcer destination than the Canal Zone]
1914 (July 16) Melbourne-Sydney Maurice Guillaux PPC correctly rated with Kangaroo 1d red tied by a superb strike of the double-oval flight cachet in violet, Sydney arrival cds of 18JL14, unusually clean & fresh but creased at U/L. [The address "Altson's Corner" - usually wrongly given as 'Alston's Corner' - is an 8-storey Edwardian building on the corner of Elizabeth & Collins Streets, built for tobacconist Henry Altson in 1903-04]
1914 (Dec 14) registered cover to Canada with scarce franking of Engraved 6d Kookaburra (exceptional centring, short perfs at top) tied by light 'MONEY ORDER/BENALLA' cds, red/white R label, Canadian 'HOBBY CLUB' label on the flap, 'C&V RPO/BC' transit b/s & Winnipeg arrivals (one of which ties the label), readdressed locally, minor blemishes.

[Although not endorsed as such, this is likely to be from a German internee at Liverpool POW Camp]
1915 (Feb 22) Rutty & Co (Merchants) double-rate cover to Switzerland with scarce franking of 5d chestnut (Cat $1000 on cover) tied by Sydney machine cancel, violet/white 'OPENED BY CENSOR' label, Geneva arrival b/s, light vertical fold.
1915 (Mar 24) very late but social usage of South Australian 1d Postal Card (Adelaide Savings Bank) in mauve to Connecticut with KGV ½d emerald tied by Adelaide machine cancel, 'PASSED' h/s in violet. Very pretty.

1923 (July 23) use of KGV 5d Sideface Registration Envelope with Flap Folded to the Face & Address Lines at L/L ACSC RE13, to Massachusetts with scarce franking of KGV 4d ultramarine, Brisbane cds & red/white R label, four different Boston backstamps, redirected twice finally to across the street from the original address!! [The rate was 4d for the first ounce + 2d for the second ounce + 3d registration = 9d]
1926 (July 20) large parcel piece (folded to 226x207mm) with complete Farmer's of Sydney address label & post office 'PARCEL POST SYDNEY NSW/Farmer's' numbered label, Third Wmk 6d brown pair (both damaged before being affixed) & 9d violet - all with elaborate 'F' perfins - tied by undated 'CHIEF/PARCELS OFFICE/SYDNEY' roller cancels. Ex Kevin Nelson. [The rate was 1/9d for an intrastate parcel weighing between 5 & 6lb. The Post Office supplied Parcel Post labels bearing the user's name to large volume users: very few have survived. Farmer's, a department store founded in 1840, also operated radio station 2FC]
1930 registered parcel piece (164x145mm) to Victoria with Kangaroos SMult Wmk 9d & 1/- tied to complete parcel label by double-ring 'POST OFFICE/DEC/10/1930/EDGECLIFF NSW', blue & black/white R label, vertical fold clear of the stamps & label. A very scarce item.
1932 (Sept 2) to "Monaco Ville, France Sud" endorsed "Air Mail via Adelaide Perth" with KGV 1d green & Airmail 6d tied 'LATE FEE RIALTO/VIC.' cds paying 3d foreign surface rate, 3d domestic airmail surcharge plus 1d late fee, 'MONACO-CONDAMINE/1-10/32/PRINTE DE MONACO' arrival b/s, a couple of minor blemishes. Attractive internal airmail acceleration on cover to unusual destination.
1932 (Oct 7) to Czechoslovakia endorsed "Per RMS Baradine via Fremantle/Adelaide-Perth and Karachi-London Airmail" and with 'LATE FEE' cachet in violet alongside West Australian Airways 'TRANS-AUSTRALIAN AIR-MAIL' label, franked with KGV 1d green (torn before affixing) and Airmail 6d x2 tied 'LATE FEE/SPENCER ST VIC' cds paying 3d foreign letter rate, 3d internal airmail surcharge and 6d Karachi-London airmail fee plus 1d late fee, Athens transit and Gablonz '-2 XI 32' bi-lingual arrival b/s. Scarce destination with a wonderful array of supplementary charges.
1933 to Germany with Airmail 3d x3 tied Sydney '12FE33' cds paying 3d foreign surface rate for carriage by ship to India plus 6d surcharge for Imperial Airways Karachi-London airmail service, also carried by German airmail with red 'MIT LUFTPOST BEFORDERT/ZWEIGLUFTPOSTAMT/BERLIN-/ZENTRALFLUGHAFEN' cachet on face applied at Berlin airport, 'BERLIN-25.3.33/a/ZENTRALFLUGHAFEN' arrival b/s, a couple of minor edge faults.
